FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers are a one-stop shop for survivor resources. Residents and business owners can apply for federal assistance and access other available resources from local, state, and non-profit agencies.

The site states that it's helpful to bring some important information with you. 

  • Address of the damaged primary residence 

  • Insurance coverage information 

  • Current phone number and mailing address 

  • Bank account information 

Los Angeles County residents directly impacted by fires can request property and vital records (i.e., birth, death, marriage) at no cost to support their recovery efforts.  

In an emergency, the Los Angeles Department of Economic Opportunity and their partners provide information, programs, services, and resources for workers and businesses.

24/7 support for those with mental health distress related to the Los Angeles fires.

Misfortune and Calamity Tax Relief Program

You may be eligible for tax relief if your property is damaged or destroyed by the Los Angeles fires.

File an Application for Reassessment: Property Damaged or Destroyed by Misfortune or Calamity (M&C) Form ADS-820 with the Assessor’s Office within 12 months from the date the property was damaged or destroyed.

The loss must exceed $10,000 of current market value.​
