Supports disaster-impacted small businesses with cash-based mutual aid to help cover the cost of deductibles for insurance claims.

Small and micro businesses from underserved communities — who already face unequal access to credit and other historical barriers to institutional services and support — are hit especially hard by natural disasters.

This free legal service easily connects LA Region’s small business owners with legal experts who can provide them with help ranging from basic legal information and guides regarding the legal issues impacting them to representation by an attorney to help address their immediate and long-term legal issues.

Services provided by a partnership consisting County of Los Angeles Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), the City of Los Angeles Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD), Bet Tzedek Legal Services, and Public Counsel.

Provides information about FEMA, a link to their Disaster Response Guide, and schedule of LIVE WEBINARS that provide guidance through the SBA Disaster Loan eligibility and application process.

 

Experts on the webinars also offer insight on small business insurance and give small business owners the opportunity to get questions answered live.

Este servicio legal gratuito conecta fácilmente a los propietarios de pequeñas empresas de la región de Los Ángeles con expertos legales que pueden brindarles ayuda, desde información legal básica y guías sobre los problemas legales que los afectan hasta la representación de un abogado para ayudarlos a abordar sus problemas legales inmediatos y a largo plazo.

SMALL BUSINESS LOAN PROGRAMS

Offers three disaster loans to assist small businesses, ranging from micro-loans of up to $50,000 to bank loans of up to $5 million guaranteed by the SBA. Link provides more information on these loans and how to apply.

Types of loans:

  • Home Disaster Loans: Loans to homeowners or renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property, including automobiles.

 

  • Business Physical Disaster Loans: Loans to businesses to repair or replace disaster-damaged property owned by the business, including real estate, inventories, supplies, machinery and equipment. Businesses of any size are eligible. Private, non-profit organizations such as charities, churches, private universities, etc., are also eligible.

  • Economic Injury Disaster Loans: Working capital loans to help small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster. These loans are intended to assist through the disaster recovery period.​​​

IBank offers loans from $500 to $10,000 to low-wealth entrepreneurs in the declared disaster and emergency areas through the Jump Start Loan Program.

 

These loans assist small businesses in low-wealth communities start and grow. The goal includes assisting underserved groups such as women, people of color, veterans, the disabled and those previously incarcerated.

Through the California Infrastructure and Development Bank (IBank)

State program that mitigates barriers to capital for small businesses that have suffered a loss (either physical or economic) due to a declared disaster.

Through PACE Finance Corporation (PFC), offer fast, flexible, and affordable financial assistance to individuals, families, and small businesses affected by the 2025 California wildfires.

A Wildfire Relief Loan that provides zero-interest and zero-free loans up to $15K for emergency housing and businesses support for wildfire evacuees of all faiths and backgrounds.

Through the California State Treasurer’s Office, CalCAP is a loan loss reserve program that may provide up to 10% courage on losses as a result of certain loan defaults.

FOR SMALL BUSINESSES' EMPLOYEES

Restaurants Cares is helping food and beverage workers impacted by the fires with grants. Grants will range between $350-$1,500 and will be awarded based on need and available funding. The online application is available in English and Spanish.
