
WORKERS' RESOURCES & RIGHTS
Provides detailed information on a variety of EDD services to individuals and businesses affected by disasters in California. This includes job search assistance, Disability Insurance, and Paid Family Leave Benefits.

* If you need to care for a family member injured in the disaster, you may be eligible for PFL benefits.
Restaurants Care is helping food and beverage workers impacted by the fires with grants. Grants will range between $350-$1,500 and will be awarded based on need and available funding. The online application is available in English and Spanish.

These centers are one-stop locations where people affected by the fires can access relief funds, get help with job placement and training, look for temporary employment and apply for small-business loans. They can also access emergency shelter and rental assistance and get help filing taxes at the centers, among other services.
* Individuals will be able to access services regardless of their immigration status.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is DIFFERENT from Unemployment Insurance (see below). Disaster Unemployment Insurance is for workers and self-employed people who do not qualify for regular unemployment benefits.
Workers who lost work or income due to the Los Angeles fires may be eligible for Unemployment Insurance (UI). The waiting period of unpaid benefits has been waived for the victims.
Providing financial assistance for the countless service workers who will have their employment suspended indefinitely that need help—housekeepers, caregivers, gardeners and so many others with access to limited assistance. 100% of the donations to provide temporary financial support to pay rent, food and other necessities as they regain employment.
